Im just starting playing piano and Im having some trouble getting my hands to play the different parts. What are some good exercises to get my hands used to playing? Any tips are helpful. Thanks!
I think it really just takes practice! =)
I played for several years when I was young, and quit for a few years and forgot everything! What helped most was doing the exercises (some lesson books have them in the beginning or end).
Same thing when I try to learn a new song, I just play slowly at first so that I get used to the feel, then it gets easier as I go.

if you’re right handed, really train that left hand. The same goes if you’re left handed.
Really though, the only key to getting better is practice. The only way to train your hands to play the different parts is practice. You should play SLOWLY on the song you are trying to learn with only one hand. Once you play that part perfectly for like 10 times consecutively, you are ready to move on. Now, practice the same amount of that song with the other hand, still slowly. When you put them together you still have to go slowly and don’t rush! also, dont forget to concentrate and truly think. Eventually, muscle memory will take over and you will be able to play the parts seperately very well. You’ll get better as you keep practicing, just remember that as you practice, for inspiration. haha
