Can I use a keyboard to get piano lessons?

I want to learn to play the keyboard, so that my friend and I can start a band. Will most piano teachers be okay with you not having a keyboard, as long as it has a full range of keys?
Yes, but be careful you are getting the right kind of lessons to meet your goal (i.e. playing in a band).
You need someone who will teach you chords, how to read from a "lead sheet" and how to convert ordinary (and a bit corny) sheet music into something a band would play.
You also need to learn "licks" and "fills" so that you are, in effect, playing an 88 string guitar. Hal Leonard publishing has some very good books available from his website and from Amazon. Blues, gospel and country are good headings to look for.
It would also help if you learn some music theory and understand the relationship between different types of chords, the possible structures of a song, etc.
For this type of piano training, a keyboard will be fine, but — again — find relevant piano training. "Teaching little fingers how to play" is teaching little dollar bills how to dive into the toilet to be flushed.
Good luck

keyboards are a good way to learn the keys, all the notes are the same on a piano, but some persnickety piano teachers frown upon them as there not a percussion instrument, just find a good teacher maybe you can play his so you can tell the difference.
